Follow us as we provide an introduction and overview of the Kia Connect with navigation infotainment system. It includes several features and functions that make it more integrated and useful than ever.
When you are on the HOME screen of the infotainment system, you can swipe left to ALL MENUS to view the various features and selections.
You will have some icons at the top –

The User Profile Settings icon…
The HOME button to return to the ALL MENUS screen…
And the MENU icon – to go to other selections or settings for the feature you are currently viewing.

In a function there is an ARROW button to go back to the previous screen…
Here's a quick overview of how to operate the infotainment system controls:
There are two buttons plus a series of buttons that control the infotainment system.
Pressing the POWER/VOLUME button turns on the infotainment system.
Pressing and holding the button turns off the system and display.
A short press will turn off the AUDIO system.
Turning the knob to the left or right adjusts the volume.
When listening to the radio, turn the TUNE/FILE knob to change channels or stations.
When playing MEDIA, you can search for a song or file by turning the knob.
And while you're on the MAP screen, turning the knob will zoom in and out on the map.
Selecting MAP will take you to your current location on the map.

Selecting the NAV button will take you to the navigation menu screen.
Press and hold the NAV button to display the PLACES screen.
The STAR button – also called the CUSTOM button – allows you to access pre-assigned features and functions.

Press and hold the STAR button to display the function settings screen – then select the function you want to assign to this button.
When listening to the radio, the SEEK and TRACK buttons change stations.
When playing other MEDIA, the buttons change the track or file…
Selecting and holding the SEEK or TRACK buttons will rewind or fast forward, except in Bluetooth audio streaming mode.
The radio is switched on using the RADIO button.
While the radio is on, you can press the RADIO button repeatedly to switch between FM, AM and SiriusXM modes.
Selecting the MEDIA button displays the media selection window with the different media sources:
FM radio, SiriusXM, Bluetooth audio, USB music, Nature sounds from the infotainment system,
AM radio, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

You can play media from a smartphone connected via a USB cable, via Bluetooth or a USB stick connected directly to the USB data port.

Selecting the SETUP button displays the Settings screen, which allows you to personalize your Kia in a variety of ways.
And when you select and hold the SETUP button, the screen will display the current version of the infotainment system.
Many functions of the infotainment system can also be controlled via the steering wheel controls.
When you press the VOICE RECOGNITION button, the infotainment system listens for your command after the beep.
When connected to a smartphone, pressing and holding the VOICE RECOGNITION button activates the phone's own system, such as SIRI or Google Assistant

Other controls on the steering wheel include the MODE button. Press and hold to select which functions you want to go to. Short press to cycle through the functions.
The VOLUME lever allows you to adjust the sound level by pressing it up or down…
In RADIO mode you can mute or unmute the volume by pressing the lever.
In MEDIA mode, pressing the lever will pause or resume playback.

When listening to the RADIO, pressing the MOVE lever allows you to switch between stations on the preset list.
Pressing and holding the lever up or down will search for a station.
During MEDIA playback, pressing the lever up or down will change the track, file or station.
If you press the CALL / END CALL button on a Bluetooth-connected smartphone, the list of recent calls will be displayed.
To redial the last number called, press and hold the same button.
To end a call, press the CALL / END CALL button.
And when a call comes in, just press the button to answer it.
To reject the call, press and hold the button.
The CUSTOM button allows you to access a pre-assigned function.
Press and hold the CUSTOM button to display the button settings screen – then select the function you want to assign to this button.
Select Kia models have a SWITCHABLE CONTROLLER that allows you to select the infotainment system or climate system with one touch.
In infotainment system mode you operate menus such as maps, navigation and radio.
In climate mode you can control the temperature, fan speed, air conditioning on/off and air flow mode.
When you select INFOTAINMENT or CLIMATE, the display changes and then returns to the default setting after five seconds.
To change the default screen or enable or disable automatic display switching, select the switchable controller button and press and hold it for three seconds.
