Teaching online comes with many new and different responsibilities. Whether you're already using video conferencing to connect with your students or are just getting started, this video will take you through some of the features that can help you stay connected.

To start using Zoom, go to zoom.us to sign up for an account.

1:04 – Schedule a meeting
On the Zoom home page, click the Schedule button to schedule your meeting in advance. You can tailor your meeting here with numerous options.

2:50 – Invite students
You can copy the invitation link, meeting ID, and password and paste this information into an email, learning management system, or other application that you use to communicate with your students.

3:33 – Start the conversation
When you start your call, there is a toolbar at the bottom of the screen with many different buttons that allow you to customize your call even further.

5:58 – Share screen
With Zoom you can share your screen with your students and even let your students share with you. You can share any open window on your desktop, as well as some others, such as a whiteboard page or a second camera.

7:55 – Student involvement
To help engage your students, Zoom has some great built-in features so you can receive feedback and interact with your students. Chat, breakout rooms, comments, and polls are all ways you can receive feedback from your students during class.
