Big data is characterized by more than the three V's that we mentioned in the previous session. Those were volume, speed and variety. There are also several practical differences. Jules Berman has a book entitled Principles of Big Data: Preparing, Sharing, and Analyzing Complex Information. He lists ten ways in which big data differs from small data.
