The disruptive technologies of generative AI programs are having interesting effects on artists and designers around the world in unexpected ways. How will these technologies have a greater impact on creativity and media consumption in the coming years? Listen as artist and designer Ethan Ramirez describes his spiraling fascinations and concerns about this unexplored technological horizon. Ethan Ramirez is a Central Texas artist and craftsman whose creative efforts focus on storytelling through the layering of different materials and the creative use of space. In 2019, Ethan decided to attend Texas State University to explore how a professional education in interior design could be combined with his artistic background and his hands-on experience building tiny homes and furniture. Since coming to college, Ethan has had the opportunity to work with architectural firm HKS and social impact studio CoAct as they continue to tackle student homelessness. Ethan is the leader of the Texas-based interior design organization '1988', which helps connect interior design students with design professionals through workshops, designer conversations and networking events. Outside of art and design, Ethan spends time with friends and building community in San Marcos, where he has lived with his wife since 2011. This talk was given at a TEDx event in the TED conference format, but independently organized by a local community. For more information, visit https://www.ted.com/tedx
