This is a short instructional video on how to eat surströmming (fermented herring).
There are basically two ways to eat fermented herring; On or Off white thin bread.
The ingredients we use here are:
Butter, Surtrömming, Red onion, Tomatoes, Potatoes, White thin bread and Creme fraiche with onions and tomatoes (this is very optional).
And we drink beer and vodka. Don't be afraid to try it. The smell and taste are very different from each other. 🙂
