Sure, some can't really be helped. For example, look at soft limiters. Many manufacturers apply these to newer cars due to emissions regulations. We're not happy about it, but we can kind of understand where they're coming from.

But hey, not all trends need to be adopted, yet we still see them appearing on new cars! For example, what about so many electric cars that have a grille on the front? It's not like they have an engine that needs cooling!
