1. Know your tax year
Knowing what your tax year looks like can help you plan and prepare
the tax year. Depending on the type of entity, there may be different due dates and estimated tax compliance issues.
2. Know your acronyms
People like to use shortcuts and one of them is acronyms. Knowing these in advance can help you understand things faster.
3. Don't eat for hours
The taxability of a tax employee (and in general) is very important for every company. Companies rely on efficient tax partners to quickly and effectively release returns. But if a customer's return needs more time, there's no harm in charging for more hours.
4. Don't give worthless work
Many people do not rate their work and often give crappy work. Please don't be that person.
5. Ask questions
Asking questions can be useful for everyone. For example, if you see a foreign bank account with a lot of money in it, you will most likely have to pay additional taxes. Asking your managers will give you extra points and save you time.
6. Communicate with your team
Communication is important.
7. Learn Excel
Excel is important. Learn to embrace and love it.
8. Accept the fact that you will receive rating points
Everybody makes mistakes.
9. Be able to explain your work
Sounds pretty obvious.
