You should not.
Yes, IT frameworks such as ITIL provide useful guidance if you want to improve your IT processes.
But they are not the answer to everything.
Remember: ITIL, like any other ITSM framework, is a means to an end – not the end in itself. Before you commit 100% to it, ask yourself: what are you trying to achieve? And does ITIL help you with that?
If the answer is yes: great.
If not, adapt ITIL to meet your organization's specific needs and requirements, or look for other best practices that will help your IT department achieve its goals.
