1.Where are you from?
My parents are both Mexican immigrants. I was born and raised in California, USA and now live in San Jose, CA, USA with my husband and our pets (Estrellita and Skye)

2. How long have you been teaching?
I have been teaching full-time for over 8 years, before which I gave individual tutoring for 6 years. I have been working with youth and young adults in California for over four years now. Previously, I taught ESL/ELD classes at a high school in Dallas, Texas, and at an adult language school in the evenings for three years.

3. How many languages do you speak?
Well, I speak 2 fluently, and then some… 🙂
Fluent English
Spanish-fluent

Almost all ages over 10 years old. I have worked in high school (11-14 years old), college (17-23 years old), and older working adults (23+ years old).

5.Have you always wanted to be a teacher?
I always wanted to be someone who could help a lot of people in any way, but no. I didn't know this was something I wanted to do until I volunteered at an elementary school my freshman year of college. Growing up, I also wanted to be a firefighter, pediatrician, professional pianist and archaeologist with a focus on Egyptian history *hieroglyphics amazed me as a child*

6. Why learn English?
Why not? lol…honestly it was so rewarding to meet people from different cultural backgrounds and also learn from them while teaching them English, like learning about their traditions, food, languages, life experiences, etc. So although online Teaching English is super fun, I also love interacting with people as much as possible, online and in person.

7.Do you teach online classes?
Because I teach in person, I am not currently offering online classes. I plan to create my own website in the coming year with more resources for English learners.
