Using Flipgrid for video assignments when teaching online
In this video I show you how to use the Flipgrid app. This is a fantastic online teaching app that we can use as a video discussion board. You can give your students video assignments that ask them to create a short video on any topic. You tell the students how you will assess their video assignment. They submit a video on the grid topic and you rate those videos. This is a complete tutorial on the Flipgrid app which is now owned by Microsoft and all its features are free.
The workflow is as follows: you create a raster that can be considered a class. You then choose a topic that can be considered a teaching assignment. You can then give your flip code to your online students so they can log into your grid and submit their video response to your assignments for review.
You can also create a topic from the disco library. There are many resources available there. You can add links to your YouTube videos or Google Docs in the assignments. You can also share your Flipgrid topics and grids with your Google classroom.
