Things can talk; and the common language is their vibrations. Dr. Eric Du introduces an economical method to upgrade millions of devices to the Internet of Things (IoT), which has the potential to change the way we all live and work.
Dr. Eric Jing Du is an assistant professor in the Department of Building Sciences at Texas A&M University (TAMU). Before joining TAMU in 2015, he was a senior data analyst at Zachry industrial Inc in San Antonio, Texas. He has 15 years of research and teaching experience in civil engineering, data science and computer simulation. As an active researcher at TAMU, Dr.Du focuses on smart information technologies for the next generation of infrastructure systems, and aims to address technical problems of importance to industry and society.

The research of Dr. Du has been funded by several agencies, including the National Science Foundation (NSF), the US Department of Transportation (US DOT) and Fiatech. He is also the recipient of many scientific awards, such as the Best Paper Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Dr.Du received his PhD in Construction Management from Michigan State University in 2012.
