Behind every great research project lies great data management. This usually starts with data management plans (DMPs). DMPs are written documents typically written at the beginning of a research project that describe how researchers plan to manage their research data during and after the research project. Librarians within research organizations play a key role in supporting researchers as they develop their plans. The Digital Curation Centre, based in Edinburgh, Scotland, will present an online webinar focusing on data management plans. The session will introduce what DMPs are and why they are needed. In addition, the webinar will provide some 'planning tricks' when developing a DMP and provide librarians with some best practices when supporting researchers in developing data management plans.
