A series of three 1.5-hour lessons (1/2 of each class creates the platform, ½ chooses materials and creates a dynamic series of lessons within the digital classroom)

Presented by Ph.D. Donna Lee Fields and Russell Stannard

Content: In light of the current crisis, teachers will need ways to create and deliver lessons using online methods. This webinar series will provide a practical guide for educators in setting up digital classrooms with meaningful lessons and dynamic, student-centered activities.

Donna Lee Fields, Ph.D., author and teacher trainer, will guide teachers in designing and choosing classroom materials that will most effectively take advantage of the digital and homebound dynamics. The focus will be on designing lesson outlines that fluidly present and develop the essential skills that students would be working on in a face-to-face setting, using the students' books and materials. Sequences of activities that encourage lower to higher order thinking skills will be encouraged.

Russell Stannard, multi-award winning educational technologist and teacher trainer, will spend the first half of each webinar walking through the steps of setting up digital classrooms. After the first session, teachers have a platform on which they can immediately start their digital lessons. The two subsequent sessions will consist of assessing the efficiency in assessing and managing the platforms, and adding tools where necessary.
