Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a process of evaluating the likely environmental impacts of a proposed project or development, taking into account interrelated socio-economic, cultural and human health impacts, both beneficial and negative.
The quality of an environmental impact assessment largely depends on the correct identification of the ecological and social aspects that may be subject to direct and indirect effects of the proposed activity or project. A clearly defined project scope is the basis of a fair environmental impact assessment.
