FC Girondins de Bordeaux are six-time French champions and seventeen-time trophy winners, and their alumni include Jules Koundé, Jean Tigana and Zinedine Zidane.

Les Girondins are second in all-time Ligue 1, trailing only Marseille, but after relegation from Ligue 1 in 2022 and an enforced relegation this season, the French giants have just given up their professional license.
