A good cover letter complements your resume by telling a story about why you deserve that first job interview. In this video I share 3 best practices for writing a great cover letter, and I even include a free sample template for you to download.

For those of you who have never written a cover letter before, or perhaps it's been a while since you've written one, it can be difficult to get started because there really isn't a standardized template. An application letter for an internship looks different from one for a full-time job. And sometimes the cover letter says that submitting a cover letter is /"optional/", so should you even bother with that?

I'll guide you step-by-step on how to write a great cover letter and even provide a sample cover letter for you to refer to:

1️⃣ Engage the reader by mentioning a connection with the company
2️⃣ Be purposeful with the information you include in the body paragraphs of your cover letter
